I wanted to do something unique with my sisters to celebrate us being in 4 different age categories ranging for 20's to (erm) 50 in June 22; doing something for 4 local charities because all 4 of us come from Worthing! I came up with the idea of Rock up 'n Run for each of us to participate in and floated the idea with Kate, Polly and Sophie last summer.  To my shock, delight and now horror, they all agreed! 😳😊😩

Rock up 'n Run, is a relay style run along Worthing prom on Sunday 26th June '22 from 9 am (till 8 pm or hopefully earlier).  Each of us will run 5km x 10 legs, East and West from a base at Beach House Grounds (right near the beach and Splashpoint).  2.5km out and back in both directions during the day and cover 200km between us.  

We have different running abilities and 4 different ages to celebrate so this really will be a big challenge for us all.  We have selected 4 different charities for our own personal reasons and will be delighted to raise as much as we can for them. 

We have tremendous support from family, friends and work colleagues and we are inviting people to Rock up 'n Run with us for a little moral support!  There is no entry fee as this isn't a race, but for those who might like to tick off a 5km or two (or three.....!) and donate £5+ there will be a medal to take away.   We are hoping that we can encourage around 8 - 10 runners for each leg of the way to keep us going!  

If you don't want to run, but want to come and say hi, we'd be delighted to see you.  If you can't come along, but wish to donate our charities will be over the moon and so will we!  Our charities are :

We are all part way through our individual gruelling marathon training using Chris Evans' 119 Days To Go programme since we have to complete 30 miles on the day - it is taking every effort to run in all weathers on our own (mostly) and build up to the distances we need to get through on the day.  Two of my sisters have barely ever run, one of my sisters was a fabulous sprinter but not a long distance runner and I'm the eldest and a bit past my prime!  We are pulling together with our charities in mind and as the days get closer, are already feeling a little nervous about our challenge.  

Alongside our own personal challenge, we are sending our heartfelt thoughts to everyone affected by the war in Ukraine who have unimaginable challenges to bear, we will be pledging 10% of our cash raised on the day to the D.E.C in support of the international efforts to ease the suffering. 🇺🇦
