Having once promised myself that I would run a full marathon before I turned 40, I managed to conveniently forget to do anything about it and missed my 'target' by nearly 4 years before eventually getting my act together and putting my name down for this years Edinburgh race.

The reason I did finally look my trainers back out was to raise money for Meningitis Research. My friends Linda and Paul Good lost their beautiful 2 year old son Leo to this hateful disease in 2010 and I have seen how the pain of this loss continues to affect their family now.
