Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

On the 22nd October 2017 I was introduced to a great man called Steve Cliff. Despite having fairly advanced Motor Neurone Disease Steve text chatted to me on Whatsapp for over an hour offering his advice and support as he had done for 100s who attempted the Bob Graham Round. For me Steve embodied what the round is about and it is his selfless support of others that has inspired me to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Association, the charity that he raised (And continues to raise through his wife Wynn) over £700,000 for.

I'm 42 years old now and in 1932 and also at the age of 42, Lakesman Bob Graham traversed 42 Lake District peaks in 24 hours. Having pushed my perceived limits across a number of endurance disciplines I'm really in fear of this one. 66 miles, 29,000ft (8800m) of ascent, a navigational puzzle over lots of rough ground. The Bob Graham Round really is a challenge and with only 1 in 3 completing it's arguably one of the UKs toughest single day endurance challenges. I'll attempt the round on the 30th June 2018.
