The Fund for Human Need was established in 1960 to relieve poverty and hunger.  One-off emergency payments up to a maximum of £120 are made to people in the UK who are destitute and desperate, irrespective of their faith, ethnic origin or social group.

One mile for every year of the fund's existence is not much, but it underlines FHN's motto: 'Where a little means a lot"
