In October 2009, Lester, my father-in-law was diagnosed with Terminal Cancer, and although this news is devastating for the family, we remain optimistic and whilst he is having Chemotherapy to help control the symptoms and prolong life, the family carry on with life and how best they can support him.
The family decided that the best way they can support Lester is by giving back what they can to the hospital where he is being treated which is the Christie Hospital in Manchester.
The Christie is a Cancer specialist hospital where thousands of people receive the best kind of treatment they can for many types of cancer and many live for a very long time and are even cured thanks to the pioneering work that they do. Much of what the Christie does come from the generosity of the public and via vital fundraising.
It is my wish to run the Brighton Marathon on Sunday April 18th in aid of Christies Hospital, and help give back what we can , we may not be able to cure Lester but we can help provide time for the family and other families by ensuring that the Christie Hospital continue to receive those vital funds that make this possible.
So please do find it in your hearts to sponsor me for a very worthwhile cause and help fight the fight against Cancer
