Story
No-one knows how they will react when diagnosed with cancer. It’s rather like being hit with a sledge hammer – one moment you don’t feel too bad and the next you’re flattened by the diagnosis and the treatment. This is where the Leukaemia and Intensive Chemotherapy fund (LINC) come in – providing psychological support, to help keep families and relationships together.
To support this local charity, I have entered an enthusiastic (but amateur!) team into the Cheltenham Triathlon on Sunday 11th September 2011. Haimish, Bruce, Claire, Laura, Natalie and I will be completing the course which boasts a 500m swim, a 2.7km run and a 15km cycle around the local area. With an early 9am start time we also have a dedicated support team to administer plasters, provide water, shout encouragement and not to forget the obligatory silver foil wrap at the end.
