Story
I was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma August 2017 and only 1 of 500 in that year to get this rare type of Lymphoma. I lost my hair twice and endured Nordic track chemo, Brutal. I had stem cell replacement therapy in May 2018 which was also brutal but has done the trick and now 2 years on am in remission and loving life. My Mantra is
"I wake up in the morning . Its a good day" I have never been more conscious of my mortality and so making every day count. I am so grateful to the consultant Dr Andrew Mcmillan and the wonderful nursing staff at the Hematology unit City Hospital Nottingham for their care and treatment and splendid attitude towards me.
Also to my dear wife Marie whose amazing love and care carried me through the most difficult time of my life .My kids and grand kids who have loved me throughout and my friends.
My little granddaughter Lydia asked me "Granddad was it the medication that made you better or God?" I gently told her that it was both and I give thanks to the researchers, practitioners , chemists and all involved in my treatment and recovery.
So im running the London marathon to raise some money too further the support for fellow sufferers and defeat this and all types of cancer. And i thank you for your donation to this worthy cause.
Love to you all
Roger
