Story

rogercruickshank.smugmug.com

Roger Cruickshank is a keen photographer who has always enjoyed the art of trying to capture the 'moment'. As an Olympian and a Eurofighter Typhoon pilot he has done a huge amount of travelling which hopefully you will see in his work.

All of the profits raised from selling his work through his website will go to his two chosen charities, both close to his heart for different reasons.

Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH)

Help For Heroes (H4H)

In April 2010, Roger's Mum committed suicide. Roger and his siblings have chosen to be open about the nature of their Mum's death as they would like to contribute to reducing the stigma attached to mental health problems and suicide. Reduced stigma and better awareness means more people will seek and benefit from the help available. I have chosen to contribute to SAMH and have set up this Just Giving website. You can either donate directly here (where all of the money will go to SAMH) or buy any photos from rogercruickshank.smugmug.com and all of the profit will go to SAMH and H4H.

Due to his work in the Royal Air Force, he is hugely grateful to anyone who contributes to the charity, Help For Heroes. Due to the nature of this website, he is aiming his fundraising at 'Hidden Wounds' which is the psychological wellbeing service by Help For Heroes. If you wish to donate directly to Help For Heroes then please contact me directly at rogercruick@me.com.

Even if you don't donate today, please just spread the word.

Why are mental healing processes viewed so differently; why the stigma? Why can’t it be just like breaking a leg?

Cheers, Rog Cruickshank
