Story

Welcome to Roger on the Run!  This year sees the return of the Great North Run to its traditional Newcastle to South Shields route, and I'm asking if you would please be able to sponsor me online, as I take part to raise funds for Christian Aid?  All money raised (apart from a small admin. charge by Justgiving) goes to Christian Aid for their relief and development work:  sums modest to us can make a huge difference elsewhere in the world.  As always there are communities in desperate need, including those affected by famine in East Africa and those suffering in consequence of the conflict in Ukraine.

Giving through this site is totally secure, simple and fast - certainly the most efficient way to sponsor me.  Christian Aid will receive your money quickly and, if you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving make sure that Gift Aid is reclaimed on your donation (25% extra at no extra cost to you).  Justgiving never pass on donors' details to others or send unwanted emails.

Your thoughts and prayers from about 11.00 am on Sunday 11 September will be appreciated, as I stagger for the twenty-fourth time along the time-honoured course, hobbled by a knee injury this year which is almost certain to result in a ‘Personal Worst’!

With many thanks, and best wishes

Roger
