Story
On June 22nd I will be taking part in a charity walk for MIND, walking 45 miles in a single day (and yes, you did read that correctly) through the beautiful Derbyshire countryside in memory of Jamie Margetts who sadly lost his battle with depression in 2016 aged just 41. The walk primarily follows the route of the Derwent Valley Heritage Way, starting at Ladybower Reservoir in the Peak District and ending in Derby City Centre.
This walk will undoubtedly be a significant challenge for me, both physically and mentally and will be by far the furthest distance I will ever have walked in my life let alone in just 1 day. However I am determined to give this challenge my all in a bid to raise as much money as possible for such a fantastic charity and plan to continue on through the aches and pains, blisters and - knowing my skin - the sunburn regardless of how much factor 50 I apply until I cross the finishing line.
If you would like to support this wonderful charity and help to motivate me through the pain on the day, you can do this is by making a donation. All donations big and small are greatly appreciated and all will go towards making the lives of those who are experiencing mental health issues that little easier.
