Story

A few years ago, my dad passed away from cancer. Whilst I was watching the London Marathon I got caught up in the excitement and entered the Bristol half marathon on the 17th September, the issue here was that I have never run further than from my house to the kebab shop.

During his final days, my dad received exemplary 24/7 care at a hospice that is entirely funded by the St. Margaret’s Hospice charity. As a way of saying thank you I’m going to raise money for that very charity, to allow them to keep carrying out the crucial work that they do as I believe this will have a greater impact than donating directly to a research charity.

Whilst I train I will be using the Charity Miles app, this will cause money to be donated to a charity that aims to provide clean drinking water to the whole world which Is a worthy cause. The money for this will be donated by Johnson & Johnson.

If the thought of a chubby kid with a muffin top slowly slogging his way around 13 miles of pure hell brings a smile to your face then I ask you to donate to my cause.

Thank you for any donations you may make, it would mean a huge amount to me as this is such a personal thing to me.
