Roll for Change · 9 March 2019

We are Solace. For over 50 years, we have been helping women and children build safe, resilient lives. Each year, our life-saving services support around 20,000 women and girls. We need your support to reach even more. Stand with us to end violence and abuse now.

Story

Saturday 9th March, to celebrate International Women's Day I have organised a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu fundraiser. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a dynamic martial art utilising takedowns, holds, and submissions which allows the smaller practitioner to overcome a larger, stronger opponent.

The event will be held at Alexandra Palace School (Gymnasium) Rhodes Avenue, London, N22 7UT from 12:00 till 15:00.

Men and women will gather at Alexandra Palace school to grapple and spar with each other in a Shark Tank, each fighter will roll on the mat for one minute with every other participant.

All proceeds will go to Solace Women's Aid who support women and girls fleeing domestic violence in Haringey.

I wanted to ask for your support and here are the many ways you can help:

- Come and fight (Roll): Tickets can be found on Eventbrite

- Come and watch: To secure your free ticket, go to Eventbrite

- Make a donation: To support Solace Women’s aid in Haringey –  to help women and children who are experiencing and fleeing situations of domestic violence and abuse.
