My treasured husband, Oliver, Daddy to Inca and Inigo, has a number of secondary cancers in his chest resulting from a colon cancer, which was removed in March 2005.
Unfortunately, the latest drugs available to him on the NHS could not hold the disease. One of the new generation of anti-cancer drugs 'Avastin', in combination with different chemotherapy drugs, offers Oliver his best chance of stabilizing and beating the disease.
The drugs are only available privately which is why we are desperately trying to raise funds for his treatment. To that end, we are holding a 5km or 10 km 'Fun' Run on Sunday 27 November 2005. The run will take place in of favourite park, Hyde Park in London. There will be quite a few runners, who will meet in the car park by the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain (Serpentine). The run will commence at 10.30am sharp! Everyone is welcome so please feel free to come and stand at any point of the course to encourage us - WE'LL NEED IT!!! We hope to be identifiable not by our red, sweaty faces but by 'The Acorn Run 2005' t-shirt. The run will have two officials to confirm distance run and completion of course.
