Every year Marisa and I take part in a charity event, up until now a marathon for the Moonwalk has been our biggest challenge. This year we have decided to take part in a bigger challenge that involves a higher level of input from ourselves!
We have chosen to take part in an event for The Mary Leishman Foundation. ‘The Dander for Mary’ is a 70 mile walk over 4 days. We leave from St Andrews on 30th June and follow the Fife Coastal Path to North Queensferry. We will stop over at various hotels and there is a charity event each night to help raise even more for the foundation. To take part in 'The Dander for Mary' we are required to raise over £1000 so please dig deep and donate!
We will keep you up to date with our adventures prior to the dander!

*Please note that all monies raised will go direct to the foundation as we have covered the cost of our food and accommodation over the 4 days.
Thank you to everyone for your very generous donations. We have tried several times over the past weeks to add some photographs while we were out clocking up the miles in prep for the big event but unfortunately the justgiving site wasn't allowing us to upload! No, not because we are blonde, because there were problems with the site!
To help with our donations we organised a Gentleman's Sunday Session at The Cedar Inn, Aberdour. The afternoon was a great success with guest speakers Jim Leishman and Sandy Strang. £1195 was raised on the day. Marisa's employer Concept-Group have also very generously donated £1000 to the foundation both of which we have added to our offline donations above.
So we made it to the end in one piece and had a fantastic 4 days! The sun was splitting the sky when we left St Andrews on the Thursday morning so a great start. After 7.5 hours we finally arrived in Anstruther for some yummy fish and chips! More sun on Friday which took us to Leven. A wee stop on the prom at Leven for an ice-cream gave us the energy to take us to our hotel! Saturday was our longest millage day, which took us to our home village of Aberdour! It was great to be welcomed at the Cedar Inn by family and friends. Getting out our own beds on Sunday morning was tough, but off we went on our way to Babcock at Rosyth Dockyard. We arrived at 1:30pm where family and friends congratulated us for our achievement. Babcock was the main sponsor for the walk donating £15K to the foundation. They also put on a delicious buffet for the walkers followed by a medal presentation. The newspaper article can be read on the below link.
Thank you once again for your generosity.
