It won’t be a long walk… but over red hot coals that’s probably just as well!

Festivals are all about having a great time.... and thousands do. But for all sorts of reasons, usually to do with life outside the festival, there are always some festival-goers who feel distressed or even suicidal. And of course the sight of others enjoying themselves can make these feelings even harder to bear. Talking things through face-to-face, in confidence and without being judged can really help…. a lot. For someone who is struggling to cope it can make all the difference. 

That’s why Samaritans are invited to set up their tent at festivals like Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, Download and many more, to offer a listening ear round-the-clock to anyone who needs to talk, including those in great despair.
