Rona's Lentan Swim Challenge · 7 March 2022

As a local parish church our mission is to the people of Fairmilehead through worship services, pastoral care, funerals and by providing five halls for use by the surrounding community.

Story

Hello and welcome to my “Raise (for) the Roof” challenge swim to raise money for badly needed roof repairs (and associated refurb) at Fairmilehead Parish Church.

So what is the challenge?

Over the period of Lent (2nd March till 14th April) I am going to swim in the pool a distance of 15km, which is the equivalent distance between:

The door of Fairmilehead Parish Church – Flotterstone Inn – the edge of Glencorse Reservoir – up Capelaw Hill (for a little altitude training 😊 😊) – Swanston Village (home of Robert Louis
Stevenson) and back to the church door.

Phew.

As I say, this is a pool swim (I am not actually going to swim along the A702 however much you sponsor me!) and it won’t all be done at once – so I will keep you posted.

I’m already way past Hillend ski slope.

Thank you so much for your sponsorship and support – please do pass this link on to family and friends, especially if they have links with Fairmilehead, the Pentlands or Fairmilehead Parish Church; all support is very gratefully received!
