Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

26th February 2019

I am undergoing hormone treatment at the moment and chemotherapy starts on 10th April.

I am going to beat this. You can help by donating to Prostate Cancer UK and being my friend. Thank you to so many people who are supporting me as I fight this disease.

I felt it was time l did something for other people. I watched a very poor Hartlepool team concede a third goal to Luton at Kenilworth Road and could see Jeff Stelling, a Hartlepool supporter, on TV in the hospitality boxes. l decided l must do Jeff's 'Walk for Men' to help cheer him up! My father was a Geordie and so is my wife thus the reason l am doing the Durham County Cricket Club, Chester Le Street, to St James' Park, Newcastle leg - a distance of 25 miles.

This charity is particularly important to me as my eldest brother, Melvyn, died from the disease and my  two other brothers Raymond and Alan also died from forms of cancer.  We will also be thinking of my brother in law Bill, who died of a heart attack. Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Update 2019.

I have now been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer which has spread to my bones, not a great place to be at the start of a New Year.

It is very important that all Men are tested and we raise more money to help Prostate Cancer Uk.

If you can help please do and thank you.

Ron
