Story
This February, I’ll be taking part in Pieta House’s “56 Miles in February” challenge—an initiative that means a great deal to me personally. I also have great support from my son Ben and colleague Coleman who will also run 2 miles each every day.
In November 2022, I lost my brother to suicide. His loss has shaped my understanding of how vital mental health support truly is, and how much organisations like Pieta matter. Their work provides hope and help to so many people in their darkest moments, and I’m proud to support them in any way I can.
Because of injuries to both of my knees, I won’t be running this challenge—but I will be walking 2 miles every day throughout February (update: through weekly physio and careful movement I have ran fo over half of this challenge). And I’m incredibly grateful to have an amazing son & colleague who have jumped in to help, each committing to run 2 miles per day so that together we complete the full distance as a team.
If you’re able to support Pieta House and the life-saving services they provide, I’d be deeply appreciative. Even a small donation can make a real difference.
Here’s to walking, running, remembering—and helping others get the support they need. Ronan
