The Mental Health Foundation believe no-one living in the UK should be deprived of the opportunity for good mental health because of who they are, the community they come from or where they live. We’re developing better ways to support good mental health in every community.

Story

I was unaware that I suffered with Mental Health until I saw a video about it.

I thought I was still finding it a bit tough after losing my best friend in the world. MY Queen B aka My Mum.

In the video I saw symptoms that I suffer with on a day to day basis, which I had previously put down to a bit of stress and going through the grieving process. Turns out I was suffering from mental health this whole time and I never knew.

After watching the video I sat down for a chat with a colleague who was a Mental Health First Aider (MHFA). They offered some amazing advice and support and also suggested becoming a MHFA myself.

After that conversation I decided there and then that I would sign up to become a MHFA. And its thanks to the things I learnt on the course that I can cope with my own demons and more importantly learn to control my symptoms. in addition being a qualified MHFA I get to see first hand what amazing work the Mental Health Foundation carry out on a daily basis. See below. .

The Mental Health Foundation is the UK’s charity for everyone’s mental health. With prevention at the heart of what they do, the Mental Health Foundation aim to find and address the sources of mental health problems so that people and communities can thrive.

These are just some of the Mental Health Problems that people face:

* Anxiety    * Depression    * Bipolar    * Schizophrenia    * Stress

And this effects all ages and all abilities. The first battle that we try to overcome is identifying that we have Mental Health Problems.
