Air Ambulance NI, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for NI. Serious or life-threatening situations can happen to anyone at any time and on average every day one individual finds themselves in need of AANI.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I celebrate 50 years since my first open heart surgery to replace a damaged aortic valve which was done in June 1971 when I was 23. A second surgery was required in 1982 to again replace the valve and then a third replacement was carried out in 1991 when I had a mechanical valve fitted which thankfully is still working very well. Furthermore, I have undergone three less invasive surgeries in 2002, 2010 and 2018 to fit and replace pacemakers.

To mark this milestone I will undertake a 50 mile Sponsored walk from 7-19th June in aid of the Air Ambulance. Your support and contributions are very much appreciated.
