The Banham Marsden March · 10 March 2019 ·
In 2017, at the age of 37 I was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive ovarian cancer, with a poor predicted outcome. Quite a shock for to hear, particularly as I have two young children to worry over.
I was lucky enough to receive urgent treatment at the Royal Marsden. Now I've been cancer free for over a year. My family & I will by eternally grateful for the wonderful care provided from all the staff at both Chelsea & Sutton sites and we'd like to fundraise as a way of saying Thank You.
In addition to this, we'd like to be able to complete this walk to celebrate my recovery - particularly as I was bedbound through the majority of my illness.
You may be interested to know that the average cost of cancer treatment was calculated to approximately £30000 per person (in 2011*).
