Story

*A MASSIVE THANK YOU FOR VISITING MY PAGE*

I have run my FIRST ever marathon in October 2020 in aid of raising awareness and research of this cruel and heartbreaking illness known as Motor Neurone Disease. With raising £1590 for the MND Association HQ, aswell as an extra £1500 going to MND Association Isle of Wight branch, I pushed my body to the limits throughout 2022 to raise awareness and smashed the target of £2022 by running, virtually, between Lands End to John O'Groats. I have between January 1st to December 31st to cover 874 miles (1,407km). 2024 sets a new task, by running Walk the Wight in May. Only completed once as part of my training a few years ago, but now seems the right time to take this on again.

I have been running since 2016, thanks to my sister. I have participated in various runs over the last few years and Walk the Wight, twice consecutively running over half. 2019 has been a successful year for my running and I have improved drastically. With 2020 being my year to put all my hard work to the test, I trained from stupid times in the morning to late at night, just to get the miles under my belt. In horrific weather conditions, I completed the isle of wight marathon in 4hrs, 39 mins and 2 seconds. I took a year out(but still ran almost every day),to spend time with the family, move house and relax. Now I want to go the extra mile with my new challenge, push my body to the limits but also in the same process, I want to raise awareness bigger than before.

Knowing that I have you behind me will spur me on to train hard through the cold months, and sweat through the blistering summer months to make it a success and complete the challenge, raising money all for a good cause close to my heart.

My mother in law passed away on November 4th 2019. She was the nicest and most caring person you could meet, someone who would go out of their way to make sure you were looked after. She didn't deserve to go through this, nobody does, but she has a family who will always remember her, no matter what part of the world we live in. I am glad she got to meet her grandchildren.

With your donations, more sufferers can have access to equipment to help them in their daily struggles that this disease puts upon them. The carers, family and friends also have a lot to cope with, so medical experts and helplines are vital in support to these people too. With this disease, there sadly is no cure. With the funds, the boffins in coats can continue to research for one.

Thanks for taking the time to read my page - it means a lot to me knowing I have your support.

Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, 100% of your donation will be allocated to the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Isle of Wight Branch.

Much love for the support
