Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity (Alex TLC) was founded in 2004 by a mother whose two sons had been diagnosed with leukodystrophy. She recognised the severe lack of information and support available and wanted to make sure that no one had to face leukodystrophy alone.

Story

About Alex TLC:

Alex TLC is a trusted and experienced organisation offering support and information for all those affected by a genetic leukodystrophy. Formerly ALD Life, an internationally recognised centre of excellence for people affected by adrenoleukodystrophy and adrenomyeloneuropathy, the charity was established in 2004. We extended our services to support all leukodystrophies in 2019 and became Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity. Your donations make our work possible.

The charity support families like the Nelson family, to help raise awareness and create a support network for families going through similar tragedies.

Newborn screening could be a preventative measure for the development of life threatening conditions such as adrenoleukodystrophy, which the charity work hard to promote. Donations support the charity to continue to support families and be the voice for those affected by such devastating, life changing illnesses.
