Beat the BLYTH · 21 May 2020

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is the principle charity of the Royal Navy. Beneficiaries lie at the heart of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity's purpose, it is our duty to remain focused on their needs. Since 2007, we have funded projects and facilities that boost morale for those who serve today. We also distribute millions of pounds annually to military charities which care for the children, families and veterans of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Story

HMS BLYTH, our sister Sandown, will soon leave the Middle East in order to sail back to the UK. Passing through the Suez Canal, She will arrive in the Mediterranean and make the rest of the way home.

Crew 4 are going to be taking the shorter route across land with the intention to #BeatTheBLYTH.

This is not an insignificant distance, 1,467 miles, and will require effort from all on board; each member of the Ship’s Company will have to run, row or cycle an average in excess of 30 miles each, with the aim of completing the challenge in fewer days than it will take the Blyth to reach the Mediterranean.

Over our deployment, the Ship has benefited from the generosity of the RNRMC, from Sailor of the Month prizes to new PlayStation controllers and now it is our turn to show our gratitude.

If you can give anything at all to this brilliant charity, we would all be so grateful. Further details about the charity can be found here:
