Story
My name is Rory and I’m 8 years old. A while ago I read a story in ‘Stories for Boys Who Dare to be Different’ about a boy who grew his hair really long to donate to make wigs for sick kids. I decided that it was something I’d like to do so I gave it a try. It wasn’t hard, all I really had to do was not cut my hair.
My last haircut was in June 2018 and the plan was to grow it for a year. But, for various reasons, things happened with me and the whole world, which meant that three years later, I have a lot more hair to donate than I expected. Now it’s time for the big chop!
I’ll be having it cut on 29th May 2021 and donating it to the brilliant charity The Little Princess Trust. These guys make wigs for kids who lose their hair and also do loads of research about cancer and other illnesses that affect people my age.
My hair will be donated, but the charity needs some funds to fit wigs and carry out all the the amazing research they do. So I’m asking you all to help please. It costs £550 to make and fit a single wig so that’s what I’m aiming for (more information below). Anything you can give would be really appreciated.
Thanks very much
Rory :)
