Paris Marathon 2013 · 7 April 2013 ·

We are the charity of Leeds Teaching Hospitals. We support NHS staff to deliver the best care for over a million patients and their families each year. Donations fund life-saving equipment, treatments, research and home comforts. Whatever will make the biggest impact to the people who need it most.

Story

On 7 August 2011 a friend Naomi Lyth sadly passed away at the young age of 26 after suffering her whole life from Alagilles Syndrome. Naomi was a very strong willed and extremely caring young lady who herself supported a number of charities and campaigns throughout her life, using her own experiences to help others facing similar problems.

In her memory her parents Phil and Patrice have set up The Leeds Teaching Hospital’s Liver Transitional Care Fund that aims to support people, who were born with liver disease, in the transition from paediatric to adult care in Leeds.

The money raised is being used to fund a range of activities and resources as well as helping beneficiaries share their experiences and to help them better handle their liver disease at a very stressful time in their lives.

I am hoping to raise some money for The Leeds Teaching Hospital’s Liver Transitional Care Fund and so on Sunday April 7 2013 along with her brother Joe Lyth I will be running the Paris Marathon. That is a whole 26.2 miles!!  In addition to this I will be participating in the the South London Tough Mudder on June 8 2012 (I thoroughly recommend you google this). Neither events are for the faint hearted so if you can spare a £1 or two it would be very much appreciated.
