We work with vulnerable people in London to prevent homelessness and transform lives

Story

This year I've decided to run my first half marathon (because starting my NQT year and finding a new place to live aren't stressful enough on their own), but more importantly I have chosen to fundraise on behalf of SHP (Single Homelessness Project).

London is a city that I'm lucky enough to call home however for thousands of people 'home' isn't such an easy word to say. Homelessness is, unfortunately, something that has been on the rise in recent years and more and more people in the capital go without a safe place to live, often those in vulnerable and difficult situations.

There is often a stigma attached to homelessness and it is often seen as a difficult issue to tackle. SHP's mission is thus to prevent homelessness and importantly,  help those that are vulnerable and socially excluded to transform their lives. They work towards a society in which everyone has a place to call home and the chance to lead a fulfilling life. This includes helping people find homes but also working with people to secure jobs, build life skills and work readiness to help end what is often seen as a hopeless situation.

I'd be so grateful if you could sponsor me and donate to SHP :)
