For the past 20 years, Afghanistan has been suffering with civilians paying the consequences of international and local politics. The result - countless Afghan civilian lives lost and the internal displacement of nearly 4 million Afghans. Now, with the US's abrupt withdrawal and Taliban takeover, the country has been left completely fragile. We have all seen the shocking images from inside the country of thousands fleeing the country in fear of what will happen next and to find safety elsewhere. Many of the families will be making their way into northern areas of Pakistan where historically Afghan refugees have already sought safety. In April of this year, we were able to support refugees in the Jalbai village in the Swabi district of Northern Pakistan, KPK. We are now heading back there and to the Bajaur district where we will be providing food rations and immediate clothing and financial aid to Afghani refugees arriving across the border.
