Story
I'm running the GSR & Copenhagen half marathon as part of #TeamBowelCancer. Bowel cancer uk have also offered me a place in the London Marathon 2024. If I can stay injury free I fully intend to take part in that too 🙏🏻🙏🏻
They are the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. They're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.Your support will help stop people dying of bowel cancer by funding vital services and lifesaving research.
My big brother was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer at the age of 47. He fought hard and many times we thought he’d beat it. He was living a full life, while on continues treatment, continuing to work and go on regular holidays. He lived with cancer for 5 wonderful packed years. Sadly when COVID came along his treatment was stopped immediately. As soon as his treatment was stopped the cancer took over him. He died within 4 months.
I’ll never get over the cruel way Derek’s life was abruptly taken from him, especially after him being so positive and fighting so hard. My aim is to always keep his memory alive. In his memory if I can stop even just 1 other family going through the everyday pain we go through by keeping bowel cancer a topic of conversation then I’ve done something positive.
If you can donate anything from £1 to this amazing cause to keep the Bowel cancer conversation going, then you too will have contributed to this life saving cause.
