I have had 20 wonderful years working for Thames Hospice and I would like to do something memorable before my retirement aged 70. Therefore, I will be walking 100 miles before the end of February.

For those who don't know Thames Hospice, it is the local charity providing expert care for people living with life-limiting illnesses in East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. I have had the most amazing career. I started as a cadet nurse at the age of 16 and was eventually accepted by the QARNNS for training, despite disability. I have much to be thankful for; nursing is a vocation and it's been a great privilege to be allowed to care for patients and families throughout my career. 

To put your donations into perspective, £120 pays for a Staff Nurse to work for a day in any of our services. Alternatively, £750 pays for 24 hours of care for a patient on our Inpatient Unit.

I have loved my time at Thames Hospice and thank you for any donations you are able to give.
