Story
Charlie’s Angel Centre Foundation is an incredible, family run charity which works tirelessly to provide support to bereaved parents and families resulting from the death of their baby or child, through counselling, advice and guidance.
When we (Alex and Danny) met as two 4 year old boys at nursery, little did we know, 26 years later we would both need the use of such a valuable charity just 10 months apart. The support this charity has provided to us, and other families is immeasurable.
Our counsellor, Allan, holds a very special place in our hearts and without his help we wouldn’t have been in a position to grow our families and welcome siblings, Iris and Jude.
Unfortunately, due to recent global and national challenges (covid etc) fundraising has taken a hit and the charity is at risk of closing within 6 months. Knowing first hand the incredible support the Charlie’s Angel Centre provides, and the thought that another family in a similar position may not be able to access the vital support they need in the future, we have to try and raise some much needed funds.
Our sons’ birthdays are: Isaac George Summerscales - 03/08 and Gabriel Cowling - 10/10. We have added these dates together to calculate the distance. Therefore, we will be walking the 31 mile journey from Frickley Country Park to Charlie’s Angel’s in Leeds on Saturday 15 October 2022.
We would be so grateful if you could donate any amount, big or small, to support our venture. We know times are tough for a lot of us at the moment and we appreciate anything you can give.
Also, if anyone would like to join us on the walk (even if just for a small part), you’re very welcome!
Thank you so much in advance for your donations and support. Love, the Cowlings and Summerscaleses x
