A half marathon AND a band contest on the same day – who would attempt that!!
Last Christmas I accepted the challenge of attempting my first ever half marathon which, for me, is quite a challenge. Since accepting this challenge I’ve discovered that I have a band contest on the same day (no pressure then). So, on the 2nd October I now have a double challenge of running 13.1 miles and competing at a band contest. The half marathon starts at 9.00 and I need to run 13.1 miles in less than 2 3/4 hours to give me time for a shower and make it to Bolsover Festival of Brass on time. Some folk might say "No Sweat" but I'm sure there will be a bucket full...
I would be most grateful if you could please take 2 mins to send some £££'s towards my chosen charity :-)
Let me tell you about Theatre Royal Wakefield (TRW)
This thriving arts venue stages top-quality productions for the local community in our Grade II* listed building. We welcome 80,000 people annually to experience a wide variety of music, drama, dance and comedy. The Theatre attracts top class artists to perform and also provides life-changing opportunities for young people in the area. Every week, 150 5-18 year olds are trained in musical theatre at our Performance Academies in
Wakefield and Pontefract. Many go on to take part in TRW productions such as the pantomime and youth musicals, all gain skills and experiences which will benefit them throughout their lives.
At TRW we plan to develop a new Centre for Creativity which will include a new studio Theatre. This will enable us to do even more, offering young artistic talent a creative space to write, prepare and showcase their talent.
TRW works with world class theatre-makers, to tour theatre across the UK and it is slightly ironic that TRW's current touring production is titled "This Might Hurt"... I think 2nd October will hurt and I’d be grateful for your support.
Thanks for taking the time to read my page
