London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
This year we will be taking on our biggest challenge to date and running the London marathon, in the hope of raising some much needed funding for the Guide Dogs charity.
Guide Dogs has always been a charity very close to our hearts. Our cousin has lived with sight loss for most of his life but he refuses to let that stop him from living life to the full. Rosie has been volunteering as a fosterer for Jilly, the beautiful golden retriever, Guide Dog in training and future life changer. We have been able to see first-hand the amazing work Guide Dogs do, the work that goes into getting a Guide Dog up to scratch and the huge difference they make to those living with sight loss.
Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives. Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you; a world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.
We’re really looking forward to running the London marathon, a life goal of both of ours for years and raising much needed funds for this amazing Charity. We both know how difficult this challenge is going to be but also know how lucky we are to be running alongside a sister and the support we can offer each other. We would be so grateful if you could help us in reaching our target and any donation you can offer, no matter how much, would mean a huge amount to us.
We’ll be positing some updates on here, check back if you want to keep up with how both our and Jilly’s training is going!
Thank you,
Rosie and Frankie x
