Brake is a national road safety charity that cares for road victims and campaigns for safer roads for all. Brake's National Road Victim Service is a specialist support service to help families cope with the shock, turmoil and devastation that road crashes cause families across the UK every day.

Story

A few weeks ago life changed inexplicably for my oldest and dearest friend.  Her husband was catastrophically injured in a road traffic collision when a commercial van driver failed to stop.

Eddy has been tragically taken away from his beautiful wife, their two year old son and the idyllic life they had created for themselves on the river.  The devastation as a result of this tragedy is heartbreaking.  Not only for the family themselves but for so many others who loved and cared for Eddy, Ciara and Seren.  It has truly been life changing for us all and a horrific tragedy that Ciara now has to sadly live with forever.

On the 15th September I am going to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge with Airborne Fit and the very next day I am going to run the Great East Run.  A challenge which I am not sure my legs will thank me for! Luke Read, founder of Airborne Fit was so touched by Eddy's story he has decided to fund raise with me and we will complete these two challenges together.

I am taking on this challenge in honour of Eddy and want to start the ball rolling for Ciara and her future campaign to make the roads a safer place for everyone. Ciara felt that Brake was a good charity to support so here I go....anything you can donate will be hugely appreciated.
