Vitality Bath Half Marathon 2017 · 12 March 2017 ·

We help anyone caring for a loved one who cannot manage on their own. Caring takes time and energy and can be tiring, stressful and lonely. Through expert advice, a listening ear and breaks from caring, we enable carers to manage their role and have time for a life of their own.

Story

On 12 March I’ll be running the Bath Half Marathon in support of the Carers’ Centre in Bath. Over the summer I worked quite closely with them, volunteering while I was back at home, so I saw what great work they do to support and improve the lives of unpaid carers in the community.

Whether it be offering advice, organising breaks from caring, providing counselling, emotional support and understanding, the Centre helps those who in their turn care for family and friends who need extra support. I saw first-hand what their wonderful volunteers and employees do day to day, and wanted to fundraise so that they can continue their brilliant work.

Running this half marathon will definitely be a challenge, and although I’m terrified, I’m also looking forward to it in a weird way — it’s for a great cause so that’s what I’m keeping in mind!
If you’re able to donate, thank you so much! Each donation will help towards keeping the Carers’ Centre doing what they’re doing as it relies on supporters to fund their work. Any amount that can be spared will be massively appreciated!
