Story
I am running the Manchester Marathon in memory of my brilliant Uncle Chris.
I am raising money for North London Action for the Homeless, a charity local to me that helps and supports vulnerable and homeless people in the Hackney area. Here is a little more info about NLAH and their mission:
North London Action for the Homeless (NLAH) has run sessions for homeless people, the socially isolated, and those in financial hardship in Hackney for over 25 years. NLAH was established in direct response to the basic needs of rough sleepers and homeless people, and in recent years we have seen their numbers increase dramatically. We have an experienced and committed team of volunteers and receive huge support from local businesses. As well as meals, NLAH aims to provide a sense of community to people who feel isolated or find themselves on the margins.
Our mission statement is: “North London Action for the Homeless runs a drop-in centre that is open to all who are homeless or in need with an ethos of service, respect and acceptance and strives to influence policy and overcome barriers to accommodation and other services to which homeless and excluded people are entitled.”
You can find more information about NLAH on their website: https://www.nlah.org.uk/.
I would be very grateful if you could spare a donation. Thank you!
