As many of you are aware, my family recently lost a dear friend after a three year battle with cancer.  If it wasn’t for the dedication of the staff at the Sam Beare Hospice in Weybridge, he would not have been able to spend his last few precious weeks in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family and friends.  The nurses not only provided medical care for him, they also gave invaluable support and advice to his family.

Sam Beare Hospice is an independent charity dedicated to providing specialised end of life care and support to local people, their families, friends and carers.  This service costs £7.2 million a year to run and relies heavily on fundraising , so any money you can donate will help towards this vital local service.

I will be attempting (and probably struggling through!) the London Run to the Beat half marathon on October 28th to fundraise for this incredible cause.  I am not expecting to get a fantastic time, crossing the line will be sufficient for me, but this is an amazing cause so please do dig deep!
