Story
My Mum - Debbie.
Anyone that has the pleasure of knowing my Mum, will know how much of an outgoing, crazy and fun lady that she is - and she is very much where I myself, get my craziness from!
In recent months, my Mum has been diagnosed with a benign Brain Tumour and has rapidly gone from an active, happy, self employed gardener to becoming virtually bed bound and certainly very much house bound.
Hearing the words brain tumour was something that we as a family had never expected to hear and despite it being diagnosed as benign, does not take away from how serious this matter is. She is suffering with severe, daily headaches multiple times a day - and not only this, severe fatigue and sickness are also some of the few symptoms she suffers. She will be out of work for quite a substantial amount of time and we are looking at brain surgery in the not too distant future.
I have decided to run the 2021 London Marathon because I want to raise money in order to aid more research into Brain Tumours. There is still so much that is not known and I want to be able to raise awareness of Brain Tumours and getting that diagnosis.
I want to do something positive and I want to make my Mum proud whilst she is going through the hardest time in her life - either that or give her a good laugh as I am the least active person she knows!!
