Please sponsor me in the Sheffield Race for Life
On Sunday 15 July I will be running the Sheffield Race for Life. I've always wanted to be fit enough to go running, so this year I thought it was time to do something about it. This is definitely quite a big challenge for me, but I WILL run all the way round, I will I will I will!
Race for Life has been around for years so I'm sure you know it's a great cause, but just in case you don't, here's the official info...

Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me now you can help more people survive cancer.
Gift Aid it!
If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you.

I am training using the NHS Choices Couch to 5k podcast, which tells me when to run, when to walk and when to collapse in a heap. It is voiced by a lady called Laura. At first I thought Laura was really nice, but now I have got to week 5 on the programme and I definitely think I misjudged her. If you can think of any creative insults I can mutter to Laura, these will be appreciated almost as much as your donations.
I will keep updating this page to let you know how I do with my preparation, and how it goes on the day. Any donation you are able to make will really help to motivate me and remind me that I'm not allowed to chicken out. Thank you!!

Update, 27 May
Laura, Laura, Laura, you are a mean woman. Yesterday she made me run for 20 minutes without any walking! The podcast always starts with a summary of what you are going to do and I think I may have said WHAT quite loudly despite the fact I was walking down the street. However.... I did it! Very slowly. But even so, I could definitely not have done that 6 months ago, so I am incredibly happy about it.
In other news I have bought some Running Shorts. They are turquoise. Boy, do I look good!
