This page shows the fundraising total raised by the amazing team of Joshua Tarrant Trust runners who are taking part in the Great North Run. The money raised will support children with brain tumours.

Story

Joshua was 8 years old when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour, 2004. During early diagnosis, he had a lifesaving operation to fit a shunt, to control hydrocephalus (water on the brain) relieving the pressure on his brain. A further operation to remove the tumors was too dangerous and was not an option. He underwent four courses of chemotherapy. Devastatingly the results were unsuccessful, Joshua was tragically diagnosed as terminally ill. Joshuas battle continued for a further 8 years, which astounded his medical team. Joshua was always smiling and touching everyone that met him. He was so brave, family was everything to him as he was to them. Joshua lost his brave fight on April 29th 2012 aged 16 years and 8 months with his parents and brothers by his side. Joshua inspires us every day, Joshua Tarrant Trust is dedicated to his memory. 100% of all profits raised help provide rehabilitation for children with brain tumors and support their families with this life changing illness.
