Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for the ASNE charity walk 2021.

I was introduced to ASNE by Newcastle Community Stroke Service in 2018. They provide activity sessions at the East End Pool/Gym twice per week for stroke survivors located in the North East of England.

The pool based exercise and gym sessions undoubtedly had a positive impact on my stroke recovery and complimented the work done by my community physiotherapist.

Later that year I became a trustee of the charity and in 2019 I became Chairman of the board of trustees.

The walk brings all stroke survivors and their families together for a shared event and at the same time raises valuable funds, so that the charity can continue to support stroke survivors. For some the walk along Newcastle Quayside is challenging but we support each other and complete it together as a group.
