Your local NHS D&G Charity raises funds to make a real difference to patient care in our hospitals and community. With your help, we are able to help give all of our patients, their families and carers and staff the support when they need it the most.

Story

From humble beginnings  as the 3 Fat Sausages in 2010 the Racing Clydesdales have gone from strength to strength to a record breaking 14 riders.

In this, our 6th year at the Etape Caledonia we ride once more in memory of Netta Ross and David Edgar and for all those touched by cancer. We hope to raise some money for the Alexandria unit at Dumfries Hospital who do such great work to support cancer sufferers.

The team has some noteworthy additions this year , joining the stalwarts ( Bill Boyes , Mike Wilford , Campbell Moffat , Alistair and Tom Ross and last years newbies Daryl Schofield and Rob Rogers ) we have some newcomers.

Sandra Edgar will trade in the warm comfort of her support role to lead the ladies section ( not necessarily from the front !!) along with Pippa Schofield , Karen Rogers and Ros Goode and the first appearance by Netta's  granddaughter Rebecca.

Making up the lineup will be Jonathan Goode and Brian Gilvary as we tackle the 81miles around scenic Pitlochry.

The kit is not as bright as last years Lycra , but I'm sure we will still stand out among our 5,000 closest friends.

As always , we thank you for your support !!
