Eilidh Brown died from cancer on 25.3.2010 aged just 15 The charity aim to build a holiday home in Scotland, for young people and their families who have been touched by cancer, in Eilidhs memory. Eilidhs family understand the strain families experience and KNOW the relief a holiday will bring.

Story

This year I'm pushing my limits and aiming to run more than I've ever ran; including my first ever marathon.

Throughout the year I'll be taking part in events to support the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund.

**Unfortunately due to the pandemic every event I was due to take part in from March onwards was cancelled. In their place I have taken on the 'End to End Challenge' to run the length of the UK from Land' End to John O'Groats - a total of 874 miles. I will also take on 'virtual' versions of the Alloa and Edinburgh half marathons**

Eilidh was 14 when she collapsed in February 2009 during a school trip. A scan showed a tumour the size of a melon which was removed along with her left ovary. Follow up tests revealed the tumour to be malignant, and also showed she had a form of Turners Syndrome - a chromosomal disorder which occurs in 1 in 2000 girls and is likely to have caused a predisposition to Germ Cell Cancer in her ovaries.

After several surgeries, hours of chemotherapy and radiotherapy Eilidh passed away 9 days short of her 16th birthday on March 25th 2010.

Eilidh's family continued her legacy by setting up the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund, and have built a respite holiday home in Stirlingshire to support families facing the same battles and challenges. The next stage is to raise funds to support the running of the house - in the region of £50,000 per year.

The vision is to ensure that families can spend quality time together without the worry of travel, food and drink costs. Circumstances dictate that often people have to give up work to become full time carers and could never afford to have this opportunity.

If you've made it this far, thank you. Please check out the website, spread the word and donate if you can. Help to make Eilidh's dream a reality.

Throughout the year I'll be posting updates of events - first up, the Kinloss to Lossiemouth Half Marathon on February 16th. The list below are my currently scheduled events and will be updated as events are completed and new events are added.
