The Alan Shearer Foundation supports the Alan Shearer Centre in Newcastle: a highly specialised, disability and social provision for disabled children and adults and sensory impairments. We need to raise at least £320,000 every year to continue providing these free sensory and leisure activities.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Alan Shearer Centre is a brilliant local facility that supports disabled children and adults all over the North East.  The staff and facilities are amazing, but with extra funding they would be able to renew or upgrade in order to help even more people in the future.

My daughter Learah is diagnosed as Autistic, so she has certain sensory needs and learns in a different way to most children.  For the last couple of years she has been visiting ASC on a regular basis, which has given her the opportunity to access equipment and therapy she wouldn’t be able to get anywhere else.  Learah has such a good time at ASC that i’m sure she would visit every day if she could.  She has gained so much from the place that i’d like to give something back by raising as much money as i can.

The GNR is a massive challenge for me as i’ve never really been a long-distance runner, but i’m determined to do it and have been training hard to reach my goal.   I am aiming to complete the run in 2 hours.

I would be really grateful if you could contribute whatever you can towards my cause.  Thanks in advance!
