White Ribbon Scotland is a campaign to involve men in tackling violence against women. It is a joint initiative by a coalition of organisations, individuals and groups of men around Scotland. We are part of the international White Ribbon Campaign, with campaigns in over 60 countries worldwide.

Story

This is quite a complex and emotive subject to talk about so I’m going to try my hardest to put everything down and do it justice. Violence against anyone is wrong. It’s not what we should strive for in life. I feel this is especially true of gender-based violence. To most of us the idea of hurting someone because of their sex is insane but some seem to think its ok. White Ribbon Scotland are a charity who aim to end violence against women by addressing men and their attitude to women. White Ribbon Scotland advocate that to end violence against women men need to be involved in the solution. They train speakers who can then go to community groups and educate them about violence against women. Simply confronting men with the facts can be enough to get them thinking about the subject and challenge their preconceptions. I feel that by doing this White Ribbon Scotland make men feel like they can be part of the solution and give them a responsibility to think and act better. No matter if the violence is physical, sexual or emotional it is toxic and can have a terrible effect on peoples lives and I would like to be part of making a diference.so if you could spare a few quid you won't regret it. Thanks. Peace out.
