I've joined Princess Anne Hospitals in July this year, as an admin/secretary for Theatres and Day Surgery & Recovery Units.

It has been an exciting time and a pleasure to make part of these two wonderful hardworking teams. Prior to this job, I worked in a different NHS Trust (Solent NHS Trust) where I got to learn, develop and strive during difficult times such covid, again, one of the best experiences of my life.

In the past, I had the opportunity to be a patient at Princess Anne Hospital for 3 separate occasions and see my 3 kids coming to this world, all 3 had complications and had to stay around a week in the neonatal unit.  During this time, I felt supported, me and my family, staff were amazing and did make a difference.  Now I have the amazing opportunity to be on the "other side" (not a patient), working for the NHS has been an amazing opportunity, now it's my turn to support. 

This is the first time I am going to skydive, believe me I am not a friend of heights, I am good going up a ladder but coming down is a problem. Still, I think that taking this "jump" will be a way to show that we can go a bit further than our limits to support who has supported us.

Theatres, Day surgery & Recovery Units at Princess Anne Hospitals are a great team, I see every day the effort and sacrifices that they go through to be able to keep these departments running. I see my team, every day, going the extra mile and to be able to provide an exemplary care, supporting each other and supporting other departments. Now that we have reach some sort of a "normality", we face other challenges, from staff shortages (which is a daily problem) to equipment stockages or resources and mainly the staff wellbeing.

Therefore, I would like for these funds to go to Theatres and Day Surgery & Recovery Units at PAH, and bring a smile to this department, show them that they are valued and what they do is amazing.
