Simplyhealth Great North Run 2019 · 8 September 2019 ·

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

I am running the Darlington 10k in August and my 6th consecutive Great North Run in September fundraising for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

Please give as much as you can or share this to raise awareness.

Male suicide and mental health is a big issue that can’t be ignored any longer. It’s unacceptable that so many men are dying from suicide on a daily basis, yet so few people are talking about it.

Every two hours a man in the UK takes his own life.

84 men in the UK take their lives every week.

The statistics are shocking.

CALM is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. Our goal is a life less miserable for you, your friends, your family and for all men.

CALM PROVIDES:

>A free and anonymous helpline 0800 58 58 58 and webchat (5pm-12am daily) staffed by trained professionals

>Bereavement support

>A website www.theCALMzone.net with inspiring content by men for men

>Campaigns tackling stereotypes of masculinity, suicide and male mental health.

Help us save lives.
