Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So, where to start?
Why wouldn't I run a marathon at 40 years old?!? Seemed like a good idea at the time and after being rejected for over 10 years straight. I did run a marathon back in 2014 - which is long enough ago to have forgotten the abject pain involved!
This year on Sunday 2nd October I will be running the London Marathon. I am aiming to finish it in 4 and a half hours. Which is quicker than in 2014. I'm already well into my old training and putting the hours and miles into it.
Now the fundraising bit.....
I am a Parent Governor at Trotts Hill School in Stevenage. Both my beautiful children have had the pleasure of being part of this amazing school.
I fell in love with the school on my first visit when as a new parent I had no real idea how to chose somewhere for my kids to be educated! Thankfully, it felt like the school chose me, rather than the other way around and the decision was easy.
Simply put, Trotts Hill is a small primary school with single form entry. Its highly progressive, driven and a caring place for the children, and their parents. I'm not just saying that as a governor, but as a dad.
Trotts Hill School is lucky enough to have a Parent Teacher association called F.R.O.T.H (friends and relatives of Trotts Hill) whose volunteers raise vital funds through all sorts of events throughout the year. FROTH is a registered charity and all donations go straight to them, not me. All the money they raise goes back into the school to purchase items to enrich the education and environment for all of the children including eduction materials, play equipment and much much more.
I've decided to run on behalf of F.R.O.T.H to give back something to the School that means so much to me.
I know in this current climate everyone is struggling for money, and everyone is feeling the pinch, businesses and schools are no different. Every penny I raise will benefit the children, who deserve the very best. I can assure anyone that donates that this money will be used wisely and will provide valuable resources for the children.
Every penny helps, and I'd love to reach my target before the 4.5 hours of pain begins!
Thanks in advance for every single donation.
