CLIC Sargent Boxing Day Dip · 27 April 2009

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

Every day in the UK, 10 families receive the devastating news that their child has cancer. Seven out of 10 children survive. Statistically, 3 children die every day in the UK of cancer or leukaemia.

In June 2004, my son Ross, was diagnosed with cancer in both kidneys. He spent 5 months in Yorkhill Hospital where he had weekly doses of chemotherapy, x-ray, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRI scans, cathates, enemas, blood transfusions, kidney failure, dialysis and 8 operations

Then he had major surgery, where surgeons removed 2 tumours and 1 and a half kidneys.

Ross is now 8 years old and has been cancer free for 6 years. No-one knows what the future holds for Ross. He may need a kidney transplant and/or a heart transplant.

I am a woman on a mission now. It is my aim to raise £1m to help other families through the nightmare that my family have been through.

I  will do this through various fundraising events and the sale of the book I've written about Ross' battle against cancer. To order your copy, please visit Ross' website

You can also sponsor me here. My next event is a zipslide on Prestwick Prom.

Your support can make a difference. Please help me to help other families through  nightmare of childhood cancer.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
