I-CCO - Charity Ride 2008 · 1 August 2008

In-Community Care for Orphans (I-CCO) is a charity registered in Zambia and the UK which works with orphans in Lusaka, Zambia. These are mostly children who have become orphans as a result of the AIDS crisis and the aim of the charity is to educate and train them so as to give them and the communities in which they live the hope of a better future.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page, so glad you have taken the time to read our sponsor page.

Back in April of 2008, a group from our Young Men's bible study, went on a mission trip to Zambia. We'd never done anything like this before, so it was a real experience for all of us.

We worked along side (I-CCO) while we were out in Zambia. Our task while we were out there was to help I-CCO begin laying the foundations of a school they are building for the local AIDS orphans whom they sponsor. It was a tremendous experience (a lot of hardwork), but it was wonderful to be able to help out. All the group was very touched by the generosity and warmth shown to us from the local children and charity workers. Their commitment and work ethic was a real inspiration to us all.

Our aim is to help I-CCO raise additional funds to help them continue work on the school project. To achieve this we are cycling from Southampton to Bournemouth about 36 miles (some of us will be cycling back) on 9th August.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor us: In-Community Care For Orphans gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
